I'm not as happy about Viridasius sp. sylvestriformes as I have only one left out of the four I had. All the three died after molting. This species has a tendency to build strange-looking nests which you can see in the picture below.

One-millimeter monsters

It's been a month since I got my snails. Who would have thought that I would see baby snails so soon! A few weeks ago I noticed first Subulina octona eggs. Since that moment many ultra-small Subulinas appeared. And today I also found one little Rumina decollata.
Minął miesiąc od kiedy dostałam moje ślimaki. Kto by pomyślał, że po tak krótkim czasie zobaczę małe ślimaczątka? Kilka tygodni temu zauważyłam pierwsze jajeczka Subulina octona. Od tamtego momentu pojawiło się już trochę ultra-malutkich Subulinek. A dziś znalazłam jednego małego Rumina decollata.

Among other news, I did some spring-cleaning in my collection. The decision wasn't easy, but I had decided to sell a few of my darlings: Ephebopus murinus female, a pair of Euthlus pulcherrimaklaasi blue and also my Liocheles australasiae. I gave away the scorpions in exchange for some cute little spiders that turned out to be REAL beasts! I mean Viridasius sp sylvestriformes. I got four of them in exchange for two L. australasiae. Never would I suspect these rascals to be so fast! I unpacked the first one and it was totally asleep. The second one made one sudden move, but it was nothing to be afraid of. The third one...well...escaped. When I was playing "Shadow of the Colossus" with my fiance I was actually wondering why the colossi tend to be sooo slow. Well this is of course the difference of pace between big and small objects. And unpacking those little snots I had a practical example of that. I saw that one escape, but my body was too slow. I got one of them for free so I thought "Well, let it be the free one". But I'm a happy owner of two overprotective cats that tend to help me even when I don't ask for it. And so one of them caught the spider for me :) Alive! The thing is that I don't learn on my mistakes at all. I unpacked the last sling and the same thing happened! And again I thought "Oh well, one of them I got for free so let it be the one". I locked my cats in the room so that they could help me again, but instead they fell asleep leaving me with the task of finding that monster. After like 10 minutes I found it on a wall and was running after it for another quarter of an hour. But I managed to catch it and didn't open any of the boxes for a week. Today was the first time I dared open one them. At the moment they are around 15 mm including legspan. Who would think that such little shit could run so fast! Well, at least you can see a photo now:
Z innych wieści, zrobiłam małe wiosenne porządki w kolekcji. Decyzja nie była łatwa, ale postanowiłam sprzedać kilka moich skarbów: samicę Ephebopus murinus, parkę Euathlus pulcherrimaklaasi blue i moje Liocheles australasiae. Skorpiony wymieniłam na małe urocze pajączki, które okazały się być PRAWDZIWYMI bestami! Mowa tu o Viridasius sp sylvestriformes. Dostałam cztery za dwa L. australasiae. Nigdy bym nie poyślała, że te łobuzy mogą być tak szybkie! Wypakowałam pierwszego i sobie spał. Drugi niby wykonał jakiś bardziej gwałotowny ruch, ale nic strasznego. A trzeci...no...uciekł. Jak grałam z narzeczonym w "Shadow of the Colossus", to się zastanawiałam czemu kolosy tak woooolno chodzą. Oczywiście chodzi o różnicę w tempie poruszania się małych i dużych obiektów. Rozpakowując te małe gluty miałam tego praktyczny przykład. Widziałam jak ten maluch ucieka, ale moje ciało było zbyt powolne. Dostałam jednego z nich za darmo, więc pomyślałam: "Cooo tam, niech to będzie ten darmowy". Ale jestem szczęśliwą posiadaczką dwóch nadopiekuńczych kotów, które pomagają mi nawet jak nie ma takiej potrzeby. Toteż zaraz złapały go za mnie :) Żywego! Problem w tym, że ja się w ogóle nie uczę na własnych błędach. Rozpakowałam ostatniego i to samo! I znów pomyślałam: "No dobra, jeden był za darmo to niech to będzie ten darmowy". Zamknęłam koty w pokoju z nadzieją, że znów mi pomogą, ale dziadostwa zasnęły. Po jakichś 10 minutach znalazłam dziada na ścianie i goniłam go przez następne 15. Ale udało mi się go złapać i nie otwierałam pudełek przez tydzień. Dziś po raz pierwszy odważyłam się jedno otworzyć. Na chwilę obecną mają po ok. 15 mm licząc z odnóżami. Kto by pomyślał, że te gówienka są takie szybkie! Macie tu jedno zdjęcie:
